Steps in Building
Fine Hardwood Tables

Each step in the manufacturing process of our fine hardwood tables is briefly explained below. The process involves meticulous quality control at each level. We enjoy knowing that the hard work that goes into each table will bring you and you family years of enjoyment.

LUMBER SELECTION

The first and one of the most important steps in producing a fine hardwood table is the selection of the best, most consistent hardwood from a reliable supplier. We insist on good color and grain patterns to give you the beauty you expect.
Before the lumber arrives at our manufacturing facilities, the edges are sealed with a wood stabilizer. The lumber is stored in a humidity controlled environment to minimize expansion and contraction during the  manufacturing process until it reaches you kitchen.

CUTTING TABLE TOPS

Next the boards are cut to width and length. Our table top shapes are cut by hand on a band saw. The edges are sanded to ultimate smoothness then the entire top is sanded to the exact thickness.

ASSEMBLY

When sanding is completed each edge is made to an exact fie. Next the boards are put together to the best match in grain and wood color. Then holes are drilled for pins. Slides, base, plate, and aprons are then assembled.

PREPARATION FOR FINISHING

First the tops are sanded on a custom sander for the proper fitting of all leaves. Then the edges are profiled. For the final touch before finishing, the tops are sanded by hand with an air sander then sanded by hand with a block sander. At this point all edges are again sealed with a wood stabilizer.

FINISHING

Each table is stained with a catalyst finish. This finish assures years of protection against heat and moisture.

INSPECTION AND PACKAGING

Before each table leaves our plant tops are fully assembled and carefully checked for defects in material and workmanship.

THE ABOVE STEPS ASSURE YOUR INVESTMENT IN OUR FINE HARDWOOD TABLES. WE ARE CONFIDENT THAT YOUR DECISION TO INVEST IN THIS FINE TABLE TODAY WILL BRING YEARS OF TROUBLE-FREE USE AND ENJOYMENT AND BECOME TOMORROW'S TREASURED FAMILY HEIRLOOM!
